The Cardiac Centre (Loughton) was started in 2001 by Dr David H. Dighton (Cardiologist) & Noreen Connolly (Physiological Technician).
We believe, like Cardinal Richelieu (1585 - 1642), that -

Our primary aim is prevention -
Especially heart attack and stroke prevention.
But also:
Very early diagnosis and treatment with evidence based techniques taken from our own research into the earliest detection of heart disease possible.
The Cardiac Centre is based in Loughton Clinic- first opened in 1973 to provide general medical services to local patients. We now provide a diagnostic centre for patients with chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, high blood pressure and other heart-related conditions. We occasionally see children, but specialise in adult heart disease and its very early detection.
We have two consulting rooms and are equipped with the latest non-invasive echo-sounding, exercise and respiratory function equipment. As important, we spend enough time with our patients, to get to know them and their problems. As it turns out, this is indispensable to accurate diagnosis.
Many patients are referred by their GP’s and consultants in other specialties. Potential survivors are encouraged to come of their own accord - before they have a problem. Others are sent - by relatives, friends, their company and other forward thinking people and organisations.
We have been registered with the Health Care Commission since 2004.
